Man used his free will and messed up his relationship with his Maker who was the source of all goodness, wellness and life thus ushering in sin, sickness and death. However, this was not to be the destiny of man. God planned to show mercy on man and make peace and reconciliation with him. However, since God can’t show mercy by compromising justice, He took the judgment (penalty) on himself on the Cross. Christmas was the day that made way for the Cross. God made peace with humanity at the Cross. With sin, sickness and death taken care of at the Cross, and Jesus having risen up from the dead, we only have reasons to rejoice.
We rejoice in the Lord always! Christmas reminds us to celebrate our peace with God.
